Highlights
- Employees are required to follow all Owner/Client and Employer (Contractor) safety rules as well as all applicable safety laws.
- Drug and alcohol “substance abuse” testing may be performed under the National Maintenance Agreement (NMA), including; pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and random as allowed by law.
- Employers are required to compensate employees for waiting time for “non-negative” test results (See Policy Decision XVII-2).
- Employers shall submit their substance abuse programs to the National Maintenance Agreements Policy Committee (NMAPC) for review and distribution to Unions (Crafts) prior to implementation.
